Jason began his career as a fire investigator trainee on a part-time basis with Barnett Forensic Services in 1992. In 1994, he joined the firm as a full-time fire investigator after receiving his certification as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) from the National Fire, Arson and Explosion Investigation Training School in Chicago, Illinois.

Jason has also received his certification in accident reconstruction after completing his training with the Institute of Police Technology & Management (IPTM) at the University of North Florida in 1996.  Jason received his certification as a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) from the National Association of Fire Investigators. In 2003 Jason received his certification as a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) from the International Association of Arson Investigators. 

Jason received the prestigious honor of the 2014 Lawrence W. Tuck Fire Investigator of the Year from the International Association of Arson Investigators Indiana Chapter.

Gary A. Barnett is a twenty-year veteran of the Indianapolis Police Department, retiring in 1990.  

During his career, Gary was responsible for investigating thousands of on-scene motor vehicle accidents. After transferring to the Arson/Fire Unit, he was responsible for the investigation of/participation in over 750 fire investigations. Since starting his own company, this figure has grown to over 2,000 fire investigations. Also during the above period, Gary has testified and qualified as an expert in numerous criminal and civil cases in the areas of fire origin & cause and motor vehicle crash reconstruction. Gary received his certification in Fire Cause and Origin (CFEI) and as Fire Investigation Instructor (CFII) from the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) after attending courses at Eastern Kentucky University in 1990. In 1991, he completed Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstruction courses and received his certificate from the Institute of Police Technology & Management (IPTM) at the University of North Florida.

Rick joined Barnett Forensic Services in 2013. After graduating from Marian College in Indianapolis, IN in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Rick joined the Noblesville Fire Department. He obtained the role of Chief Fire Investigator in 1997 where he has participated in a multitude of fire/explosion and scene investigations. His daily contribution continues to provide him with more knowledge, experience, and understanding of fire/explosion behavior and causes.  In 1997, Rick received his Certified Fire and Explosion Investigation (CFEI) certification and his Certified Fire Investigator Instructor certification from the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). In addition, he received his Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CFVI) certification from the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) in 2002.  Rick's primary assignment, as Chief Fire Investigator, has been the investigation of/participation in fire/explosion investigations. He is responsible for conducting instructional training on origin and cause investigations, local and state laws, rules, and regulations along with standard operating procedures/guidelines. As Division Chief with the Noblesville Fire Department, his duties and responsibilities encompass the enforcement of the laws regarding the arson statutes in the State of Indiana. 

Rick received the prestigious honor of the 2000 Lawrence W. Tuck Fire Investigator of the Year from the International Association of Arson Investigators Indiana Chapter.

Forensic Engineer

Keith joined Barnett Forensic Services in 2002. He received his Bachelor of Science of Electrical Engineering in 1979 and his Master of Engineering in 1981 from the University of Louisville.

Keith is a registered Professional Engineer and is a Licensed Master Electrician. He also has various degrees of training in vibration analysis, distributed control system maintenance, and design.

Keith holds a PE license in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Traci joined Barnett Forensic Services in 1998. She has prior insurance working for a major insurance company and holds various certifications.  Traci has the expertise and numerous degrees of certification in human resources, office management, and human services.

Vince joined Barnett Forensic Services in 2000 as an Evidence Technician. In 2005 Vince earned his certification as a Motorcycle Technician from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. Vince has been a motorcycle enthusiast for over 20 years and continues to expand his expertise by attending workshops/seminars regarding the most up to date information.
